Crystal Palace has made an offer to Chelsea for out-of-favor winger Mykhailo Mudryk. It has been made clear what the terms of the deal would be and why it is seen as advantageous for all sides.
When was signed from Shakhtar Donetsk in the winter of 2023, his initial cost was £62 million, which increased to £89 million with add-ons. At the time, Chelsea held off fierce opposition from Arsenal, but their perseverance in defeating the Gunners hasn’t paid off yet.
In 72 games for the Blues, Mudryk has only managed to score nine goals and dish out nine assists. As a result, he has fallen to the bottom of the hierarchy, as Enzo Maresca now favors players like Pedro Neto, Jadon Sancho, and Noni Madueke.
Additionally, according to the most recent information from FootballTransfers, Mudryk may be moving within London during the January transfer window.
According to them, Premier League underdogs Crystal Palace, who are presently ranked 18th, “have approached Chelsea” about loaning Mudryk.
The only team in the league with less goals than Palace (eight) this season is Southampton, in last place with seven. Given Oliver Glasner’s team’s obvious lack of offensive spark, Mudryk’s arrival and lightning-fast speed are seen as potentially “transformative” additions for the Eagles.
Chelsea would also gain from a loan stint since it would provide Mudryk with the consistent playing time he needs to restart his career. Another benefit is that Mudryk would stay in the nation and be given chances to improve his skills in England’s top division.
Everyone would benefit from Mudryk moving to Crystal Palace.
The report made no mention of Mudryk’s thoughts on a possible loan move to Selhurst Park. However, the move would make perfect sense if he is focused on getting game time.
Despite playing just 146 minutes in his seven Premier League games this season, Mudryk has made 14 appearances overall.
Maresca has only given the Ukraine international one Premier League start, and he was hooked at halftime during that match against Wolves.
In contrast, Palace is obviously having trouble after losing Michael Olise to Bayern Munich.
Although Mudryk would have a point to make and Glasner would have an explosive option, his entrance would not ensure the final product.
